Welcome to Shop Your Own Mortgage. We’re a mortgage marketplaces that enables home buyers to explore financing options from a large network of lenders. We are not a direct lender. As such, we do not set the terms of any financial products nor the qualifying standards. Instead, we help applicants become verified for suitable mortgage programs and walk them through their options. If an applicant chooses to accept an offer, we then work with the lender to ensure a smooth closing process.

 

Licensing & Disclosures

Shop Your Own Corp operates in the United States as “Shop Your Own Mortgage” or “SYO Mortgage”. We also provide services in Canada, under the name, “My Mortgage Auction”. While we do not provide home financing directly, we do ensure that all lenders in our network are Equal Housing Lenders. This means that we do not engage in business with financial institutions that practice discrimination, as prohibited by law. Our license allows us to originate loans in the following provinces and states:

 

  • Canada: British Columbia, Ontario
  • United States: California, Colorado, Florida, and Texas

Applicant Protections

For the protection and security of all parties involved, our technology encrypts all information provided through our mobile app. A licensed mortgage consultant, then reviews every application to decide on the appropriate next steps. Submitting an application does not mean that you are eligible for a home loan. To find out the requirements for your individual circumstance, talk to your mortgage consultant.

LAMAR, SUITE 201, AUSTIN, TEXAS 78705. COMPLAINT FORMS AND INSTRUCTIONS MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DEPARTMENT’S WEBSITE AT www.sml.texas.gov. A TOLL-FREE CONSUMER HOTLINE IS AVAILABLE AT 1-877-276-5550. THE DEPARTMENT MAINTAINS A RECOVERY FUND TO MAKE PAYMENTS OF CERTAIN ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET DAMAGES SUSTAINED BY BORROWERS CAUSED BY ACTS OF LICENSED MORTGAGE BANKER RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATORS. A WRITTEN APPLICATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE RECOVERY FUND MUST BE FILED WITH AND INVESTIGATED BY THE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THE PAYMENT OF A CLAIM.
