Licensing

Shop Your Own Corp

Welcome to Shop Your Own Mortgage. We’re a mortgage marketplace that helps home buyers find and then secure the best financing options. As with all great marketplaces, it’s free to shop around. In fact, we encourage it. We are not a direct lender, and therefore, we don’t set the terms of any financial products. Instead, we help applicants become verified and walk them through their options. If an applicant chooses to accept an offer, we then work with the lender to ensure a smooth closing process. For information about our licensing, your rights under the law, and more, keep reading the following.

Applicant Protections

For the protection and security of all parties involved, once a user submits an application through our mobile app, our technology encrypts all personal information. A licensed mortgage consultant, then reviews every application to decide on the appropriate next steps. Successfully completing an application does not mean that you are now eligible for a home loan. Rather, it means that lenders will now be able to assess whether and what products they can offer you. In order to find out the requirements for your individual circumstance, speak with a mortgage consultant.

Please be advised that when your submit an application, you are under no obligation to secure a loan. In fact, all applicants are free to reconsider up until the signing of their closing documents. We invite all applicants to become familiar with their rights, as outlined by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. We also encourage all clients to take advantage of the availability of our Licensed Mortgage Consultants, and to ask any questions that may come up in the process.
