Sharing Knowledge

Pencils of Promise (PoP)

Many kids who live in developing nations don’t have access to basic necessities, and this affects more than their ability to read. This impacts everything from their knowledge of basic hygiene to how they provide for their families in the future. With this in mind, Pencils of Promise (PoP) and their partners give children a chance to dream and be creative, all while in a safe and clean environment. Donating everything from water filters to whole schools, they work to change communities by giving them the building blocks they need to thrive.

What they’ve accomplished so far – built more than 500 schools and helped over 100,000 students.

In collaboration with POP, Meadow Walker is building a school in Ghana, Guatemala or Laos in memory of her father, Paul Walker. She plans to raise an additional $100K in order to pay for the WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) Program.

“The new school is the most beautiful building I’ve ever seen.” -Annabel

443 million school days are missed each year from waterborne illnesses. WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) is a program that work with POP to provide water filters and hygiene lessons to children to ensure they are healthy enough to come to school.
